I can't grow a full beard bc of my Native-American ancestry. I have thin/bald spots. I want to grow facial hair to have a more masculine look. Do you have any suggestions with the shape of my jawline and the hair that is available on my face?

Thought honestly it's a bit hard to tell what would truly look good without the rest of your face...like asking what glasses shape/color and only showing a pair of eyes.
I think the partially grown chin beard looks just that, partially grown.
I think that its pretty rad the way it is in the pic.

personally i like guys with beards, keep it all over but trimmed short. this will define your face, like outlining an image/text in black pen. Keep it tidy, and try changing your hair to fit your face, try a medium messy look.

You could hold a smile for that long, but photography was still so expensive that a posed studio photograph was expected to be the only image of you that your descendants would ever see, so you wanted to impress them with your gravity and sobriety. That's a good question, also have you seen the photos taken of the deceased, propped up as if they're still living? Creepy.
Because of the old photo technology, it took the photographer a long time to be able to focus and take the pictures...probably by that time, if the people had anything to smile about it would have long been forgotten.

you're not concious of that thought process, its just something that happens without you realising.





like you can look at two different faces, that both have brown eyes, brown hair, tanned skin and plump lips, and one could be really ugly and one could be stunning. you couldnt say either way what defines those characteristics, because its a subconsious realisation of features.. apparently symetrical faces are one of the characteristics that define beauty.

I think it's a subconcious thing...but yes, we do notice symmetry. I think it's an instinctual thing that helps us decide who's better (mate-wise) than someone else. I think there are a lot of little things that we don't ';notice'; but which we find attractive.





For example, I know that sweat is not something I really consider hot, but every now and then, I run into a girl that's been excercising a lot, and for some reason, I start thinking she's really hot. Why? because even though I don't ';like'; sweat, some body odors actually do attract me. (Please, don't use this as an excuse to stop bathing and using deodorant, it only works for a few people!)





Some girls pile on the makeup until they resemble Marylin Monroe, or some other famous person that I think is really sexy, but I find them to be a turn off. Why? I don't know, I appreciate their effort, and I think it's pretty, but I'd never try to hump a wax sculpture, so maybe hiding the fact that they have pores kills the desire.





Is symmetry bullshit? I don't know, but I do know that there are a lot of stranger things we never notice, but which strongly alter our perception of others, especially on whether or not we consider them to be ';attractive'; and ';beautiful.';
I think I do. For example, I have always thought something was weird about Paris Hilton's face ( I am not a fan of hers, but she has a well known face so I am using her as an example). I am specifically talking about her eyes. Turns out I read an article somewhere that she has an eyelid that sags and gives her one eye the appearance of being part closed.


Also, I have always thought Angie Harmon has one eye that looks in a slightly different direction and it distracts me. I also know about a half dozen people with asymmetrical features like eyebrows, lips, and one friend has lopsided ears.





These things don't make people less attractive, but I do think that people notice them.
It is my opinion that yes we do. The catch is that we don't know that it is the symmetry that we like. The big things are the space between your eyes, how far your eyes are from you nose and mouth, the size of your hears in comparision with other things. Granted these things you do not think about but do you ever wonder why you might like 3 different people and they have some of these things in common with one another?
My boyfriends left ear is higher than the right but I NEVER noticed it until he told me! So, unless it's REALLY off no...people don't notice.

Just use paint shop pro It's much better than adobe at overlaying photos. Unless you want one to do it automaticly . . . . in that case. . . . . LOL - hope you have 4 gig ram and a 3000 GHZ processor to run software like that. . . . Would take a HUGE program to recognize the various sections of a photo and then choose the correct sections to overlay and then smooth. . . . Awe hell, you can't do it.

I spent ages checking out what cuts suit which face shape, but what I noticed was that 'oval' and 'oblong' shapes are both described in such a way that basically says your face is clearly longer than it is wide. HOWEVER, an oval face shape can carry off any cut while an oblong shape can't do really long or really short hair.





SO, does anyone know the difference and if so, what the heck am I? I've talked about cutting my hair short, but if It turns out looking horrible I'm gonna regret it a LOT.

I think it's a load of rubbish about different face types and stuff. There are loads of people in this world and it's impossible to sort out their face shapes into five or six categories.


I wouldn't worry about oblong/oval faces because you look to me like you have an oval or a heart shaped face anyway.


Are you sure you want to cut your hair? I think you would look prettier with long hair or the length you have it at the moment.


Remember that when you get your haircut to be specific about how much you want chopped off because they usually cut it too short.

I don't think there is really a name for it. Just print a picture and bring it to your barber. If you don't have a printer describe it to him like this: A soft, sort of stubbly mustache. With a beard started across and down from the mustache. It needs to be tiny, growing bigger as it approaches the chin. I also need a line of hair connecting the chin part of the beard and the lower lip.





I think you can get it with any haircut. I've seen guys with a long haircut with this kind of beard.





I'm not a women, so I can't help you there. So, lookup ';I love Immortal Technique'; on Google. This way it will bring up results of girls saying they think he's hot. If girls do, then they like his beard. You can also say ';I love Immortal Technique beard.'; and see what comes up!What do you call this style of facial hair? photo provided?
Really, I don't like it. Why shave most of your face, and leave a little bit right at the bottom and on the chin? And the moustache? You should either have one or shave it, never leave it at 1-2mm long.

I relate to how you feel friend... I too worry about my looks, and people tell me confidence, blah, blah, blah. well, looking at your picture that's all more believable to me because there is nothing wrong with how you look... just the part about looking kind of down on your self.





one other thing. as a guy, if you are not extremely good looking, you've got to be confident to get positive feedback from girls. it's easy to hit a vicious cycle of low self-confidence, timidness around girls, little attention from girls, wrongly thinking it's your looks, low self-confidence, etc. etc.

None of your facial features are ugly, you have nice lips, nice eyes and nice cheek bones.


But your obviously suffering from low self esteem and when this happens it's really hard to believe what people say.


You gotta remember though that people have different features so yeah someone may have a big nose or big ears etc etc, but its the imperfections on people that make people perfect, if you tell this to yourself everyday when you look in the mirror or something eventually you will see it that you don't have to look perfect, no one is perfect.

it's not a very good angle...I can hardly see your face..but if I had to say something I would say change the hairrr
I am likely old enough to be your mom so here are some honest answers. You are frowning. Smiling makes everyone look better- males and females, as do white teeth. Even if you don't smile because you don't like your teeth, get a whitening product as all people will notice is the brightness and not any flaws. If they are moderately yellow Crest White Strips will help some but nothing beats the trays a dentist custom makes for you and the Nupro White Gold gel that goes in them. You sleep in the trays or leave them in at least 4 hours for at least 2 weeks. Then, just a touch up every few months. Your skin looks like you are not well or it's not taken care of well -can't tell from the photo. A dermatologist can give you advice on that. Your hair looks like one of the Jonas brothers, don't know them apart but one has your hair. Change that. Again a good salon (yes guys go too) can tell you what current trend looks best on you. Everyone, including females, can't just go with the current hair trend as it always flatters some face shapes and not others. A good stylist can tell you what is in style or taker photos you like and they can tell you what works for YOUR face shape, eyes, etc. You have lips like that singer John Mayer or Mario Lopez Some females like that look on a guy and some don't. I don't think there is really a name for it. Just print a picture and bring it to your barber. If you don't have a printer describe it to him like this: A soft, sort of stubbly mustache. With a beard started across and down from the mustache. It needs to be tiny, growing bigger as it approaches the chin. I also need a line of hair connecting the chin part of the beard and the lower lip.





I think you can get it with any haircut. I've seen guys with a long haircut with this kind of beard.





I'm not a women, so I can't help you there. So, lookup ';I love Immortal Technique'; on Google. This way it will bring up results of girls saying they think he's hot. Really, I don't like it. Why shave most of your face, and leave a little bit right at the bottom and on the chin? And the moustache? You should either have one or shave it, never leave it at 1-2mm long.

I relate to how you feel friend... I too worry about my looks, and people tell me confidence, blah, blah, blah. well, looking at your picture that's all more believable to me because there is nothing wrong with how you look... just the part about looking kind of down on your self.





one other thing. as a guy, if you are not extremely good looking, you've got to be confident to get positive feedback from girls. it's easy to hit a vicious cycle of low self-confidence, timidness around girls, little attention from girls, wrongly thinking it's your looks, low self-confidence, etc. etc.

I am likely old enough to be your mom so here are some honest answers. You are frowning. Smiling makes everyone look better- males and females, as do white teeth. Even if you don't smile because you don't like your teeth, get a whitening product as all people will notice is the brightness and not any flaws. If they are moderately yellow Crest White Strips will help some but nothing beats the trays a dentist custom makes for you and the Nupro White Gold gel that goes in them. You sleep in the trays or leave them in at least 4 hours for at least 2 weeks. Then, just a touch up every few months. Your skin looks like you are not well or it's not taken care of well -can't tell from the photo. A dermatologist can give you advice on that. Your hair looks like one of the Jonas brothers, don't know them apart but one has your hair. Change that. Again a good salon (yes guys go too) can tell you what current trend looks best on you. Everyone, including females, can't just go with the current hair trend as it always flatters some face shapes and not others. A good stylist can tell you what is in style or taker photos you like and they can tell you what works for YOUR face shape, eyes, etc. You have lips like that singer John Mayer or Mario Lopez Some females like that look on a guy and some don't. It could be done in Photoshop Elements ($100) just as well.... BUT... NO software does it all by itself. It takes a HUMAN with skill and indepth knowledge of the program to do a good job of it. Microdermabrasion is the best, because it's not as hard on your skin as acid peels, and it's not as expensive as a photo facial. Some places such as Sally Beauty Supply sell at-home microderm kits so that you can do it yourself once a week. It's not as harsh as getting it done at the doctor, and costs quite a bit less as well. Plus, if you own the stuff to do it yourself, you can keep doing it every week.

Of course your freckles will come back because your skin is designed that way. Maybe your skin is allergic to such strong medication i suggest that you use lower dosing of it or stop using it completly. If you do decide to use it follow with a mositurizer.
Try putting a thin layer of some lotion (preferably for sensitive skin, or no fragrance) on your face, then get a damp, warm washcloth and lay it over you face. Definitely stop using the medication on your face until it heals. When you go back to using the salicylic acid don't use it as much.Hope this helps :(.

I was applying Oxy salicylic acid cleansing pad on my acne with my thumb, index, and middle fingers. After two or three days, I could feel that those fingers are very smooth, yet it feel very insensitive. I don't know what my finger is going through, but I heard the salicylic acid clears pimples by peeling them off. Is this what is happening to my finger, they are being peeled off? Well, thats what acids do, they burn off a fine layer of your skin, resulting in that slippery feeling. The only way it'll feel better is if it grows back, so just give it time. yeah i had try that oxy saliclic acid BUT the face wash one and dont really have that problem try useing that one also i do use a bit of lotion in my hands because they sometimes get dry because of it ALSO use the oxy face wash or daily wash that contains benzoyl peroxide i say it works better

Never heard of a 20% salicylic acid peel. I would be careful with this stuff. I've had a couple chemical peels at a doctor's office, but my skin didn't actually ';peel';. I think it's just a term they use to describe that it's suppose to remove the top layer of your skin. I looked on the website, and for the prices they charge that's pretty cheap so I hope you didn't get riped off! I would only get peels at a doctor's office or spa. Yes it is more expensive, but better safe than sorry. Have you tried the Neutrogena wave? I just bought it a few days ago and have used it a couple times but it does a really good job of cleaning deep into your pores (better than any of the scrubs i've used). It makes your skin really soft too. Just a suggestion :)

When i use acne medicine with salicylic acid in it, my face gets very dry and peels. It never did heal the acne so i just stopped using it. I now use AcneFree, which makes my skin soft and well, acne free. I havent gotten a bad pimple in about a month. This has benzoyl peroxide in it, and it is simalir to Proactiv.

The acid is a harsh treatment for acne and often times it doesnt help at all. if will cause your face to dry out and flake and maybe even breakout again.


Have you tried proactive? Its about 20$ for a trial kit, but it works really well if you use it often.
the acid can be too harsh especially if your product has more that 2%.





i would try something else specifically for sensitive skin.

From what i know about it; i would say no. They are both ';acidic';; they basically do the same thing, but salicylic acid i think is a tad more powerful. You want to use it on your skin? I wouldn't, especially if its sensitive. If you want to use both; do it, but at different times.
I wouldn't. It can cause severe skin irritation if not burns. Either do one or the other but definitely not both.

I have been battling skin problems for the past 10 years and although my acne isn't too terrible now, I have lots of clogged pores all over my face, upper arms, and all over my back. I also have some pretty moderate scarring on my lower back and upper arms. You usually don't want to use anything on your face that contains more than 2 or 3% salicylic acid. It can dry out your face and cause problems. There's a type of benzine peroxide (I think that's what it's called) that works very well too. You don't want to go any higher than 1% with that tho. If you water your ointment down a bit, you should be okay. You can also try mixing it in with some oil free facial moisturizer. That way it won't be as concentrated. If you have ever used Stri-Dex pads, that contains salicylic acid. I would prefer using salicylic acid rather than glycolic acid because it is not as aggressive. I had used both salicylic acid and glycolic acid peels before. I wished my facial lady had not use glycolic acid because my skin conditon got worst over time. It was good for the first year, but now my skin lost the shiny elastic layer. I would suggest talking to your dermatologist for an accurate skin analyst (and make sure you are not allergic to any type of acids) before trying out the peel, just to be safe.

I feel your pain!!!! I'm a good looking 30 year old woman with the acne of a teenager. I have tried just about everything. The only thing that has worked so far is a microdermabrasion cloth that I got off of eBay. I only use cold water with it being that cold water will help to close pores and the mirodermabrasion cloth will remove the dead cells that are blocking the bacteria in. I can't tell you how to mix salicylic acid at home. (I wouldn't try that either).





For burning though, when we try a product on a customer (skin care products or cleansers) and they have a bad reaction we use COLD MILK dabbed on the irritated areas. It takes the burning away immediately and shortly thereafter the redness too. I recently saw this work for a lady who tried a new face cleanser and it immediately irritated her sensitive skin.





For a home treatment though, I use Mary Kay Microdermabrasion twice a week. It is not the same as what you describe but is the same as what your dermatologist would do for Microdermabrasion at a fraction of the cost.
